Swedish Fluid Motion Association (SFMA), a Swedish industry association for fluid technology, annually awards a scholarship of 20 000 kr for the best master’s thesis in hydraulics or pneumatics. The scholarship is intended to stimulate development in fluid technology among students, teachers, and companies. Eligible master theses must be recently examined with at least a passing grade at a Swedish university or university college, and must address hydraulics or pneumatics. Nominations can be submitted by students themselves or by their teachers/supervisors/examiners. The selection process involves two stages: first, the chairperson and industry responsible review nominations and select three candidates; second, SFMA’s board (jury) evaluates and chooses the winning thesis based on innovation, applicability, value for the industry, technical quality, and clarity/professional presentation.
