Our Swedish operations were founded in 1969 and supply nuclear fuel as well as products and services in automation, maintenance, testing and decommissioning for customers around the world. About the role: The Field Service Department in Västerås, Nordic Reactor Services, has approximately 60 employees. These employees, along with several consultants, work with service and maintenance of nuclear fuel, and maintenance of systems in nuclear power plants. Field Service has an end‑to‑end responsibility toward our customers and designs, manufactures, and tests tools that are used in our assignments. Our customers are typically nuclear power plants in Europe (Asia and the USA may also occur). As a System Engineer you will involve yourself from idea generation through to delivery or site work at the customer's location. You will work with mechanical designers and other departments. You will oversee the systems in our tenders, development, and delivery projects for both internal and external customers. We manage our work in our own facilities but also carry it out on‑site. We work with relatively short cycles from design to delivery. The work includes a mix of internal projects for developing methods and equipment, and external delivery and site projects. The tasks and technologies often have a more practical than theoretical application. You will report to the Manager Nordic Reactor Services Product & Project and be located in Västerås, Sweden. Model of work: hybrid. Key Responsibilities: • Technical lead in commercial delivery projects involving electrical and control systems • Technical support or coordination for business opportunities and tenders including control functionality/logic • Maintain up-to-date documentation for control systems • Requirement owner and coordinator for targeted interventions and upgrades of control systems in in‑house equipment • Build “product knowledge” of our equipment and develop an understanding of how it is used, including the interaction between mechanics, electricity, control systems • Technical support during site work • Define requirements for, and coordinate software maintenance for software used in in‑house equipment (.NET, LabVIEW) • Electrical design at low‑voltage level is often outsourced, but it is beneficial to act as a sounding board in the work.
